This comprehensive course content is 98% applicable to anything the restoration professional may encounter, dealing with the science of how to restore personal property damaged due to fire, smoke, flood or disaster. This virtual, on-demand course consists of five recorded segments, each with a corresponding quiz, on the following topics:
- Restoration History
- Restoration Theory & Combustion
- Surfaces
- Types & Characteristics of Smoke
- Types & Characteristics of Smoke (cont.)
Once you have completed and achieved a passing score for all five segments, a certificate of completion and corresponding continuing education credits will be provided. A passing score of 100% is required for each quiz and you will be allowed multiple attempts in case you do not pass the quiz the first time.
Continuing Education Credits earned: 5 total for the entire course.

Lori Young, CR, CLS
Lori is a Certified Restorer, Contents Loss Specialist and holds an IICRC Master Certification in Fire and Smoke. She presents to numerous companies on the subject of contents restoration and emerging technologies within the industry.
With over 25 years experience, Lori remains in the day-to-day operations of evaluating, estimating and consulting on insurance claims which allow her to stay current with industry standards.
As a trainer, Lori specializes in contents estimating, Xactimate, division management, risk, liability and design. With today’s growing industry, designing your team for success is one of the industry’s largest challenges. Her work includes training and knowledge for insurance adjusters and the “what-to-do” with just about any situation you may run into while handling a contents loss.
She stays active with industry associations while serving as an author, instructor and committee member to emerging training and certifications.
Art Johnson, CR,WLS,CLS
Art Johnson, CR,WLS,CLS has been in the restoration industry since 1988 and continues to be very active in all aspects of restoration from fires to water damage, trauma, mould and clandestine cleanup. He is a recognized RIA instructor for Its Contents, CS&T and CLS designations, and the IICRC as an instructor for WRT, CCT and the UCT. He is also the recipient of the industry's prestigious Martin L King award presented to him by the RIA. Art is a recognized Master Cleaner and Restorer by the IICRC.
Art lives in beautiful British Columbia Canada with his wife of 46 years.
